  13. FILE HANDLING:

  15. DOWNDATE  - Similar to the UPDATE directive, but restores the file  to 
  16. what it was before you screwed it up.
  17.  
  18. CONDITIONAL BRANCHING INTRUCTIONS
  19.  
  20. ON DISASTER - Similar to ON ERROR GOTO only it doesn't go anywhere. It 
  21. just  quits processing and dumps all the files, the program,  a  cross 
  22. reference  listing,  and  that names and telephone  numbers  of  every 
  23. knowlegeable programmer and analyst in the country.
  24.  
  25. MAYBE  -  A qualifier for conditional  branch  instructions.  Branches 
  26. about 50% of the time and should be used when the user isn't sure what 
  27. he/she wants.
  28.  
  29. HOWEVER - A qualifier for branching instructions that is a combination 
  30. of WHILE, UNLESS, UNTIL, and THEN. Its outcome is uncertain and should 
  31. be used only when the program specs are vauge.

  33. PROGRAMMING/DEBUGGING AIDS:               
  34.  
  35. SET  BELLS  - When encoutered, this instruction will sound  70  bells, 
  36. reverse  the  screen, and blink 20 times in  double-wide,  double-high 
  37. characters: "OK, YA GOT HERE! SO WADDYA WANT, A MEDAL?"
  38.  
  39. AUTOTIMER  - This instruction pulls the plug and invokes the  DISASTER 
  40. routine when your program exceeds 5 minutes CPU time.

  42. KAMIKAZE  - This lifesaver is a combination of KILL and DELETE. It  is 
  43. placed  beyong the END statement. If the program ever gets  there,  it 
  44. will  delete all of the data files in your account, and  itself,  then 
  45. force a hardware malfunction, allowing you to save face.
  46.  
  47. DOSOMETHINGQUICK  -  When  this instruction is  encountered,  it  will 
  48. transfer control to the AGREEA.BLE program package, which will  accept 
  49. any  kind of garbage, mix it up a little, and display on the  terminal 
  50. portions  of  scripture taken from the Psalms. The only  parameter  is 
  51. pointed to on entry by R5, and is completely ignored.

  53. TRYANOTHERTECNIQUE  - This timesaver is utilized when you can't get  a 
  54. program  to  work.  It shuffles your variables around  and  gives  you 
  55. another  crack  at  it.  When the  machine  stumbles  onto  the  right 
  56. solution, it SAVEs the program and gives you all the credit.

  58. COMPILER DIRECTIVES AND SWITCHES:

  60. /DOCUMENTATION  -  This  neat instruction will scan  the  program  for 
  61. keywords,  access  the  BUREAUCRATIC.WORDS  database  with  a   random 
  62. technique,  blend  the  words  together, and  spit  out  30  pages  of 
  63. incomprehensible jargon.

  65. /GRAMMAR - Analyzes your syntax and makes any necessary changes

  67. /LOGIC - Analyzes you logic and unkinks it.
